Noida to Srinagar

Total distance from Noida to Chopta is 441kms
Our trip began on 1st May '10 driving from Noida to Srinagar .
Route being delhi - modinagar - khatauli - roorkee - haridwar - rishikesh - shivpuri - devprayag - Srinagar.
Stayed overnite at Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam ( GMVN ) resort in Srinagar.
Srinagar is a small hilly town quite busy.
Next morning we drove from Srinagar - rudraprayag - agastyamuni - ukimath - chopta.
Roads were quite good except few stray patches in between due to land slide. However, we found the Highway quite busy as it links prominent religious places -- Kedarnath and Badrinath .
We stayed at Mayadeep resort in Duggal Bitta which falls 4 kms before one reaches Chopta.
Chopta falls under Kedarnath sanctuary, therefore construction is prohibited .
There are few hotels available with no electricity. Hotels provide solar lamps at night.
Among all of them we found Mayadeep resort quite comfortable.
Cell phones do not work as there is no network.
Weather becomes quite chilly at night so we carried few woollen . We found the place absolutely quite and serene as there are less number of tourists visiting.
Climate -- early morning was pleasant with clear sky , bit warm during the day . Evenings were pleasant with little rain at night so it was cold.
We carried drinks along with us as the nearest liquor shop was at Ukimath ( 36 kms way ).
Food predominantly is vegetarian at the resort , though " Mr Rawat " the chef on request with an extra tip can prepare non veg :-)
